These are pictures of what I call the big drone. It’s a work in progress I’m waiting for the motors and I should be able to at least fly it when they come in. However, I still need the OSD telemetry to keep track of the battery. As with any drone when the battery charge gets to a certain level you better get the drone home or it’s gonna land somewhere! These pictures may be too large to view. I tried to get them on site but the message said to large. www.mrgodzilla.com/drone/31.JPGwww.mrgodzilla.com/drone/34.JPGwww.mrgodzilla.com/drone/35.JPG

This is just a short video clip. I was flying one of my hexacopters in the backyard just to check it out and test it to be sure everything was working. Unfortunately, I used a bad battery that was not fully charged. As the drone was losing battery power and coming down under my control it reached a point where there was not enough current to control it and it flew sideways instead of coming down and crashed into my garage. This was a dumb move on my part and I should’ve known better. So, I had to refurbish this drone, fortunately the electronics and the motors and propellers were okay but the battery compartment and a few landing gear segments were broken. After the refurbishment I wanted to test the drone again. It runs fine and in this video segment I wanted to see how fast it would gain altitude. So, I gave it full throttle to ascend. From the video you can see that in a few seconds it had gained altitude quickly. I did not want it to go into the clouds or even a few hundred feet so I terminated the altitude test. But I know now that it is very responsive in gaining altitude and in a few seconds could easily be in the clouds. Just want to show an uplifting video instead of politics. www.mrgodzilla.com/drone/al.wmv

My big drone (that’s what I call it because it’s big), is about 85% complete. Everything has been installed except the OSD, the propellers, the camera and the battery cage. It has retractable landing gear and one of them did not work so I had to rig up a system to replace the one that did not work. When the landing gear is raised the entire drone will be fairly flat. With the retractable gear extended that would tend to impose a drag and tilt the drone. This is typical of the expensive drones used commercially. And megabucks. I'm a pauper droner, but love the hobbie. However, as soon as I get the props I should be able to at least fly it. This would be the next step to confirm that everything is installed correctly, that its response to controls, and would be a stable platform for the camera. Hopefully I’ll be able to post a video of a test flight. This is no easy task.
My drone picture is too big to post, sorry, will adjust later.
Put this one aside for now.

This is the latest drone. It’s a hexa copter with oversized motors. It is built to lift heavy objects such as a camera etc. In-flight it is very stable and it will make an excellent platform for drone videos. It’s still a work in progress and I have yet to add OSD and the camera itself. This drone could actually take two cameras but I haven’t quite figured out how I want to set this up. But at least for now I know it runs very smoothly. www.mrgodzilla.com/drone/11.jpgwww.mrgodzilla.com/drone/22.jpg

www.mrgodzilla.com/drone/TW1.wmvThis is a short video to test both the camera and new drone. The purpose was to see how well both work together and I can tell from the video that additional adjustments are needed. However I just wanted to show the video as an indication of progress on the new drone. The total time of flying was probably about seven minutes. But without the OSD I don’t know the condition of the batteries. If you fly too long and loose capacity of the batteries the drone will falter and finally drop or you might say crash. The batteries were not hot, nor where the motors. This is an indication that when I get the OSD set up I might have a long flying hexa copter. May take some time to download.

This is the third test of the new drone. I am now confident that this droning/camera is ready for bigger and better journeys. I just need to install OSD so I can keep track of the battery voltage and then I think this drone will be all set to go and video some of the local landmarks. This is an experimental video. I mounted two cameras on the falcon heavylift drone. I wanted to see how it would fly and also if I could compose a split screen video. So, I did and it all works. The video is crap but just an experiment. vimeo.com/444885792
