Sahara winds will blow across Europe this week pushing temperatures to around 40 C.
One must drink enough fluids.

It does look rather worrying.
Here in Northern England we have no had any real spring/summer so far. Almost constant cloud cover.
Since my 'bad do' back in 2007 I have not welcomed extreme heat.
I'll definitely be keeping out of the Sun.
Today; occasional showers, cool breeze, grey overcast.
You can tell how different it is to the usual, my tomato plants have failed. Even in the green house. Not enough light.
You are right about the fluids.

Take care HAL.
The Guardian reported Paris 2003 heat wave left dead people everywhere with funeral homes running out of room.
Paris Is keeping all public parks, swimming pools, public buildings open 24/7 for people to cool off.
The Sahara winds will be relentless.
So, is this global warming, and if it is , I think the earth is just doing its thing.

Sending up prayers for our members in Europe.
Stay out of the Sun, go out early if you have to go out. Don't jog at noon. Plenty of water. Cotton clothing.
Watch your Puppies' feet, they will burn easily. Wear a hat. When you move you don't have to run, take it easy.

Can't remember if it was 3000 or 13,000 that died in France a few years ago due to heat. Could be more this time around. Edit: here are the figures. Worst than I thought.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_European_heat_waveI have been talking to a niece who is going to Spain with her very young daughter on the 6th of July. Trying to get her to cancel the holiday. She is a, to be polite, big girl, and will really suffer if the temperature stays high. But she would lose her money. In the end it is up to her. Maybe the worst will have passed by then. Thanks for the good wishes. I have very good shade from the trees in my garden. So I can keep out of the Sun. Today we have, yet again, complete cloud cover in my area. Temp' is about 16C. It's due to go up from tomorrow. purr, How are you doing in Holland ? And Thelmadonna in Scotland ? HAL.

And Thelmadonna in Scotland ?
HAL.
Was nice today, worked in the garden most of the day. Wasn't too hot, we are supposed to actually see the sun tomorrow, it was hiding behind blanket covered light cloud today.

As this Sahara monster spreads, Germany reduces the speed on the Autobahn as the pavement is melting.
England says 31c will spread slowly over the country.
This is called a Rex Block or simply stagnation.

Dutch exports collapse! 3 women critical in hospital as silicone implants burst . Roofs are melting and sagging dangerously. Police and emergency personnel allowed to operate in shorts and sandels. I hope she can give us an update, but that was sage advice! Purr..and Thelma..while we have presence of mind..please take care of your cats. Gold fish aquariums or bowls can be kept in refrigerators briefly to prevent water from boiling I am told. Just don't forget to re check the fridge occasionally.

You out there Purr ? Drop us a line.
Been looking at the heat distribution on the weather programs. Doesn't look good. We need some more wind to move things along.
The jet stream is in the wrong place.
I worked in Iraq at around 35C. But that is a long time ago.
However, nothing we can do but wait it out.
