Ad Astra is an upcoming American science fiction film directed by James Gray, who co-wrote the screenplay with Ethan Gross. The film stars Brad Pitt, Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler and Donald Sutherland, and follows an astronaut who must go out into space in search of his long-lost father, whose experiment threatens the solar system.
The project was announced in early 2016, with Gray saying he wanted to feature "the most realistic depiction of space travel that's been put in a movie". Pitt signed on to star in April 2017, and the rest of the cast joined later that year. Filming began around Los Angeles that August, lasting through October.
Ad Astra is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on September 20, 2019, by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures under the 20th Century Fox banner.

Thanks Swamp, I'll be sure to watch this one! I feel Walt Disney has been right up (and out) there with Dreamworks opening the world public's mind, informally of course, be it entertaining tidbit by tidbit, to the greater universe, taking on the job of (informal) disclosure of many deepest black secrets. Some of this stuff is nonsense, some true, and we are free to choose to recognize truths for what they ultimately are or dismiss too scary ones as sheer fun. purr
