...a smallet, the latter Trevor Noah's rendering (by way of some guy under the unfluence trying to order 'just a small omelet') of not quite hate crime victim Jussie Smollet. I've been following the story with growing amazement by watching CNN, especially Cuomo Prime Time and his big buddy Don Lemon following up immediately after, I just caught Noah's more lighthearted comments, although I'm not sure this is very funny.
Early morning Jan 29 this craziness went down. And it is as crazy as it is sad. Mr. Smollet experienced, how to say this kindly, a rather serious lapse of judgement? Destroyed his reputation, own life, by putting that noose around his neck.
Can you spot the elephant too? Sure this Empire actor might have wanted a raise. But per his instructions he was bent intensely on harming the Make America Great Again movement and the sitting POTUS. And he would have, if only he had gotten away with it.
This was dirty politics at its most maddest and virulent imo.

P.S. This is not because I'm a Trumpite, obviously President Trump has difficulties playing 'nice' or even 'presidential', and he's not the ideal champion of his conservative Evangelical supporters, Smollett's antics might be a symptom of US politics getting polarized like nothing ever seen before within a modern Democracy. Not just about personal/political gain, I see in this hoaxed hate-crime utter loathing aimed at the US President, that is: hate. Again, however undemocratic Jussie Smollett's action, Trump imo owns some of the hate too.
