Mmmm... Nyx, guys like that leave me a little dizzy, but never mind ! Your comment makes sense, for God to be male or female as humans understand it wouldn't tally up biologically (seemingly suggesting there's a divine spouse of the appropriate opposite sex), in turn (theologically) disqualifying him / her / both of them as God: we'd call them Ancestor. HOWEVER, the Bible leaves plenty room for God to be an entity encompassing both a female and a male psychological nature. First there's a clear presentation of God as a powerful Guy. Adam, the first Man of course is 'created in God's image', while Eve subsequently is created from Adam's rib, image of an image/copy of a copy, if you like. But in the first chapters of Genesis God the Creator Spirit is seen as a metaphorical eagle hovering with trembling wings over a fledgling chick taking to the air for Flight 101. Here God is a loving, caring Mom of all living things. I believe one branch of early Christianity, the Church of Thomas, interpreted this text to mean God the FATHER was complemented by God the SPIRIT, who is a female. Jesus Christ logically then was their kid. Obviously he must have been a tough guy (with the crucifixion thing and all that!). But he also demonstrated uncommon sensitivity and gentleness (for these brutal Romanized times), emphasizing stuff like 'forgiveness', even towards enemies. Jesus seemed very much to be in touch with his female, maternal side... There it is Nyx. Make of it what you will. I think it is important that we somehow are able to recognize something of who we ourselves are in our God(s). God should be a Good Friend imo. purr

Tell me you don't really believe in the actuality of that.
How could Eve be a copy when most of her internal plumbing was different to Adams ?
Also it seems a bit remiss of God to create woman as an afterthought. maybe He realized that there was no way to get the 'Begetting' rolling with only one sex.
The old Testament may be a good read, but it is all bunk. And should be read as such.
And what about Mitochondrial Eve ? how does she fit into this ?

Thanks for all of your responses!
The article claims that Littlemore uses the drug DMT in which this allows him to talk to the female earth Mother God , and see the male sky Father God.
The article says this is the American Indian view of God.
I am sure every person has their opinion if God exists, and if yes, what form?
I do get conflicted when I see bad things happen to good people.

HAL, I wasn't taking the Biblical creation account literally, so I did not mean for you to take me literally. Instead I'm engaging Nyx' topic alleging a guy had been taliking to God and found She was female. In response I offered some of the ideas found within the Bible concerning the nature of God, especially as regarding 'him' being 'male' or 'female'. purr

Father O'Leary, priest of a small community in Alabama, had a heart attack.
His parishioners thought he was going to die. So everyone gathered around to pray.
But he died.
However, a minute later there as a gasp from the assembled people as he started breathing again.
He stabalised, and everyone except Father Murphy went home.
When they had gone Father Murphy asked O'Leary ' well, Patrick, did you go to Heaven ?.
'I think I did' answered the Priest.
'And did you see God ? what was He like' ?
Father O'Leary looked very trouble and motioned Murphy to his side.
'Are we alone '? He whispered.
'Indeed we are, The others have gone home. What seems to be troubling you '?
'Well, I did see God. And Patrick, She's black'.
