James Mattis is "jumping" mad about another military branch.
Mattis says we do not need to bring war to space.

Buzz Aldrin was next to Trump as he signed the order. Aldrin has told Trump that space soldiers, going to the moon, going to Mars was extremely urgent.

Nyx, I wouldn't be overly surprised if President Trump has been taking sum of his Alternative Facts from the UFO community (and predecessor, 'Star Wars' Ronald Reagan!) . I'm with Trump on this one: if past centuries of UFO incursions into Earth air/near space, plus bizarre contact and abduction accounts teach us anything, it's that space already has brought a number of powerful, potentially hostile actors to .our doorstep.
And with some weaponizing of the US space program (secretly) in place as I write, this POTUS thinks he can do it cheap like! Guy is positioning himself imo as the 'UFO president' for the next election .

I agree purr, he also is wise to put Ronnies' idea into place before playing that big card, the biggest card in my opinion. He is not a lover of the FBI, He obviously doesn't care about over-riding protocol. You know Orson Welles has a lot to answer for, panic in the streets and all. In the end I don't think there will be any defense or weapon system that we have now or anywhere in the near future, would be efficient enough to do the job.
Ronnies' idea What would it have to be?

Hat Tip to Cliff for the catch. which begs the question what extra hardware will be stashed? It's his own private space..
"NASA awarded a sole-source contract to Bigelow Aerospace to support extension of the life of the privately-owned module, and its use to stow spare space station hardware The partnership with Bigelow supports NASA's objective to develop deep space habitation capabilities while stimulating the growth of the space economy.'" bigelowaerospace.com/pages/beam/

It makes sense to have room to keep small spare parts on sight rather than spend 2 billion to send them up when they break. He might have a scheme to get paid for storage.......or store anything he damn well wants. Could get interesting.
