Scientists Discover a New Planet with an Ocean—But Is It Inhabitable? In a bid to chart out other galaxies, the scientific community has made a stunning discovery. There has always been speculation in astrological circles that there may be other planets in addition Earth with the potential to support life. The discovery in focus is a planet that has been named TOI-733b, located some 245 light-years from Earth. This newly discovered planet is larger than Earth and has its own sun. However, unlike our planet, TOI-733b revolves around its star in a paltry five days. Source here. It looks like we are getting closer to finding a planet with a livable Earth-like environment where life could exist--but perhaps not inhabited by any intelligent beings, as no signs of satellites or other giveaways have been reported.

If it blew up today it would be 245 years before we would even see the flash.
I see little point in us looking at systems we can never reach. As academic exercises, ok. But not practical.
