I definitely believe that what happened at Roswell was extraterrestrial. I have been going over my copy of Berlitz and Moore’s The Roswell Incident for fun and came across something that I am having trouble reconciling:
- Marcel says the material in the photograph (The Forth Worth photos) is some of the real stuff and it wasn’t a staged photo.
- The stuff in the photos appear to clearly be from a balloon.
I am having trouble reconciling the above facts. Any thoughts from those well-read on The Roswell Incident?

Interesting question, could you say exactly which of the press photos you refer to, and then we can try and embed them here in this thread. Also: on which page of TRI does Marcel claim real crash material present? Thanks! purr

Photo nr 1: Major Jesse Marcel presenting according to Berlitz & Moore an "unspectacular" piece of crash debris from a flying disk.
Ahh... for the past fortysumtin years I've been keeping a copy of The Roswell Incident in my direct line of vision in our living room so I quick checked myself and the photos you referenced are nr 1 (Jesse Marcel) opposite page 112 second one down, plus nr 2 (General Ramey)(which is certainly one of a set, taken by multiple press photographers free to flash away at will) shown one page of images over, the top image.
I'd say none of these qualify as 'facts', rather as description and analysis (of photos and witness testimony) by authors Berlitz and Moore. That said, you are perfectly correct in pointing out that Marcel is quoted (in later testimony commenting on purportedly photo nr 1) stating that on display is some of the less spectacular flying disk crash debris. He could have misremembered or been misunderstood by his interviewers. Personally I have no reason to doubt his word or judgement here: I tend to agree with Berlitz and Moore and think photo nr 1 shows us a tiny sample of badly crumpled yet honesttogod AMAZING alien technology. Imho nr 1 doesn't show a weather balloon.
Photo nr 2 with Ramey and easily identifiable pieces of 'debris' is already 100% part of the official cover up. A balloon tethered Rawin sonde, as man made as they come.
What's imo really important about this story is that none of the military service men like Hauk and Blanchard involved in locating and (mis?)identfying the disk/weather balloon debris were reprimanded or punished for their extraordinary claims or actions. Given either new assignments and/or promotion the continuance of careers to me indicate they had brought to the attention of the US an artifact of immeasurable technological value and military advantage.

P.s. I'm adding the photos when I have time. Or maybe someone else will...?
Photo nr 2 (Arlington Libraries) of which scene several were shot by the press hosted by General Ramey showing the hastily substituted Rawin Sonde materials and the glimpsed secret memo (outlined in red) which once enhanced is believed to have revealed the incredible endeavor America was embarking upon: recovery and reverse engineering of a downed extra-terrestrial craft.

The bigger crash site was in near by Corona. From what my late uncle told me, the crash was extraterrestrial and many were threatened to keep quiet.
