What do you folks think of the Hyperloop idea ?
Brilliant or too prone to sabotage ?
Would you ride on a passenger version ?

In this day and age, It would be a prime target of sabotage and mayhem ! Sounds cool though.

I think I agree with Lone, HAL, after checking out this Wikipedia LINK. Huge sitting duck technology necessarily stretched out all over a country / continent, which requires protection from bombs, missiles, even firearms(!), hell an angry nut with a power drill whatever, literally everywhere it goes! Also I question the need for the general public to travel at 1200 km/hr speeds, if I'd allowed myself to be blasted, nearly instantly to say my place of work, on arrival I'd indulge myself with an extra long reading/coffee break to make up for having lost that hour of restful bliss on a normal intercity train. I think my preference to be making trains, buses and planes, all public transport, simpler, safer, a little faster and cheaper to use over time. Maybe, maybe switch to maglev on selected, the most frequented routes (like the Japanese). Plus of course a road system guiding intelligent self driving cars/taxis. purr
