DECEPTION AND DISAPPOINTMENT: WAS 2023 THE WORST YEAR EVER FOR UFOS? Events of the past year show that the serious study of UFOs may be at its lowest point since the late 1940s when the phenomenon was first considered. It has been marred by overwhelming deception and disappointment because of outrageous claims, unfulfilled promises and more than a few hoaxes. 2023 brought us: A Congressional Committee interviewing a troubled man who captured the attention of the world with tall tales of UFO crashes. A Harvard Professor who discovered what he said were “alien marbles” on the ocean floor that turned out not to be. A revered UFO researcher who fell for a UFO crash fraud. Alien mummies from Peru that closer examination later showed were made from the heads of llamas. While the reality of the core phenomenon of UFOs remains, real investigation of UFOs suffers because of the "nonsense" factor. From supposed "whistleblowers" who never actually whistled, to PhDs whose credibility is forever tarnished by making uneducated announcements, the harm that they have inflicted upon the field may be irreparable. ( Source here) Footnotes: Whatever activities partook in 2023 regarding UFOs/UAPs, those events most likely increased global interest and enthusiasm in this field of the paranormal (hopefully). No doubt leaving the public looking for more succinct and concise answers. And now that begs the question, will 2024 be any better? Only time will tell.

To my mind best year ever. One reason is, no "troubled" man whatsoever was questioned by US Congress, more like the best and brightest America's military has to offer as personified by Grusch, Graves and Fravor.
