It is good that America has such discord. Moscow happy now, Putin will help America. But first Biden needs to control America with direction. Revolution is necessary before necessary change can happen.

At the risk of overstating the obvious, at the outset of posting Defend The Police I felt so strongly because it was as if America failed to defend its heroes in blue, then I continued hoping to stimulate the debate on the underlying facts of the so called police brutality and systemic racism supposedly shown in the videos. Progressing into pages I hoped against hope one or two courageous and wise leaders/influencers FROM THE US BLACK COMMUNITY would make themselves heard, speaking out against BLM's Orwellian narrative of 'all are equal yet some are more equal than others'. I'm still waiting and hoping. But for now I have to conclude the one voice that has been consistently defending the police is that of President Trump. Being Dutch I'm not voting, not even taking partisan sides in the US elections (I side with the American People and whomever they vote in as POTUS), but in all fairness I believe Trump is making the right(eous) move in this instant. purr I think when excessive force of killing and maiming of white and black people by the police is visibly reduced, then people will defend the police. Rubber bullets instead lethal bullets for example. A uniform doesn’t give you the right to take people’s lives IMHO By Gollem, for a second I thought I had wandered into a dating site in here! Getting all serious, Gus, we're not talking about largely state or cartel run police forces like those of Belarus or Mexico. American Police organizations, like its European counterparts are neither mandated nor generally practice the use of excessive force, "maiming" people or as you simplify "take people's lives". Allowing for some individual aberrations (bad cops do exist, no argument there) and variation among operational excellence vs. corruption among the multitude of US police organizations, most Police do their job as they're supposed to. Police who do maim, brutalize and commit murder as normal practice do not deserve to be defended at all, not now or after they better their ways IMHO. My point is that the complaint against American Police, specifically alluding to 'white' cops murdering and brutalizing 'blacks' from racist motives has been based on the dissemination of hoaxed reports using a formula of editing video and witness statements deceptively to denounce the officers and their police organization as brutal, racist murderers. It is a lie shown for its falsity when you look at the full information and video footage of each case broadcast worldwide in the past years, and when it fails as proof of guilt in court. I defend the police because the American public has been rolled. I believe they're the good guys you call when your house has been burglarized, when your family gets attacked in the street and when godforbid you become the victim of serious crime: our police is worth defending. purr

I remember this one, and with at the time little known of the details of the case much was made of Taser and Firearm carried on opposite sides of the officer's body. The logic would be that whichever weapon is drawn, lethal or non-lethal, it shows intent. Now the verdict is in and America must have its own ways of justice, and I will ultimately respect this. But.... From Kim Potter's body cam audio: "In Potter’s body camera footage from the shooting, she can be heard yelling, "I’ll tase you!" and "Taser! Taser! Taser!" before firing her handgun." ...a terrible kind of mistake, simply confusing left and right side while acting under extreme pressure, is strongly suggested. She can then be heard saying, "I grabbed the wrong f------ gun," followed by: "Holy s---, I just shot him." So, what we imho do not have here is the intent to kill (Potter is announcing her imminent deployment of what she believed to be her taser), no overt racism (anyone defying police during an arrest risks force being used) and no 'brutality' either because this officer was opting for non-lethal force, although she failed in that respect, confusing left and right, taser and handgun, shooting mr. Wright fatally. As a police officer she has an extraordinary duty and responsibility to keep Daunte Wright safe and alive. Oops... and 'my bad' won't do here. Her terrible mistake than must be weighed and translated into justice under the laws of the land. Like I said: I must respect American ways in America. But a terrible mistake getting you up to 15 years in prison. Feels rather harsh.... purr
