Heh heh,
(Cliff, HAL, & the RC 3D printer fellow who's name I've forgotten)
Now here's a project for a weekend or two, see:
Interesting website in general for inquiring minds...

Here is the photo of the device with which the KYK-13 crypto key filler was used.
The rackmount Control Segment L2C GPS Digital Signal Processor MSN receiver is used to take precision timing measurements of the L2C GPS space vehicle (aka 'satellites') constellation in orbit and whose data is adjusted and uplinked to the space vehicle constellation in orbit by the US National Geospacial Intelligence Agency (NGA). There are 32 of these Control Segment Monitor Station Network receivers that have been deployed around the world into US DoD control bunkers. The photo on the left is the complete GPS Control Segment monitoring station along with the additional items such as a cesium atomic clock 'frequency standard' and RF distribution amplifiers, etc. I was the responsible debug engineer for the (white) development MSN receiver depicted on the right side photo.

Plutonious,
Interesting.
I used to use the timing signals from Boulder, Colorado to check my old short wave receiver.
On the same subject. I have just bought a receiver. The problem is that it is over 300 miles away in Somerset. And with the current restrictions I can't go collect it.
It will have to wait a while.
As for encryption. It's the surest way of getting the attention of various authorities. But there is a good encryption program on my Linux machine.
Curious Marc (YouTube ) has a Cesium clock item at the moment.
Keep safe,
HAL.

You a ham? And its a bummer re; your receiver.
So, you are Linux man? Smart Man!
I'm currently using Win7 Pro, but when MicroSoft finally forces me to upgrade again, I will stop using all MicroSoft products and move entirely to Linux/Unix. I have had enough of MicroSoft and their greedy policies. Everything they touch they phuk up. Look at what they did to Skype. Its almost unusable. They did the same thing to Visio. When they aren't out right stealing (as they did Windows from IBM) or from the little publishers, they clone, but everything they touch they mangle. In my opinion.

It was MicroSoft's constant upgrading that made me look at Linux. I have to admit to not being very good wit it. But as it is related to DOS I can get by.
But I'm running down my computer activities. I find I'm spending too much time on it.
