This study claims that most UFO reports are made by people walking their dog or going outside for a smoke. Most UFOs are reported on Wednesday usually between 4 P.M. and midnight. What surprised me was that Las Vegas was the UFO king for reports up to 2018 according to article. www.syracusenewtimes.com/blog-ufo-observations-timing-is-everything/

Wednesdays....? That's odd......so we are thinking that space aliens coming to earth like to be seen on Wednesdays...? I get the after dark aspect, indeed this is not new data....and old data from Dr Vallee's books cite around 11:00 pm and 3-4 am as peak sighting times. But....do these times say more about humans and their perceptions, mental states, etc or that aliens like to fly around then?

It does make sense that such people will have a greater chance than average as they are outside more often. But it also follows that people like construction worker and those in other jobs that keep them in the open should be making the majority of reports. But it doesn't seem to work out that way. Also, folks who live in places like Iraq and other Middle East countries, who tend to be out and about in the evenings when it is cooler should be expected to report more of the illuminated type of object.

I guess Wu has a point, dog & smoke is about our state of mind, not the relative availability of alien flight patterned around sigarette smoke, dog pee or wednesdays! I don't smoke, but as a former dog person covering untold miles in Dutch parks I can attest to a sense of relaxation and becoming emotionally attuned to the simple pleasure of observing a dog just... being a dog. Opens the mind. Opens the eyes (as well as the imagination). purr

Yes purr "opens the mind" or does the study, have a purpose ?
I don't want to bring up flying monkeys, that's just rude,
the brookings report from 1959, does state many things, to study and influence the public, for benefits of man's lot. here is the pdf. file of the report, the original one had 250 pages, this one has 219, (31) missing pages.
"marketing" public funds used to benefit for profit and non-profit corps, patent laws, and Govt. uses,
I found the sec. about weather forecasting and control interesting. here is a link from another place about this report.
