Mysterious Universe UFOs Around the World: Denmark
Robbie Graham August 29, 2018
Over the next several weeks, I’ll be conducting interviews with leading UFO researchers from countries around the world in an effort to paint a picture of global UFOlogy today.
This week, our global UFO trek takes us to Denmark, and to Pia Knudsen. Pia has had an interest in UFOs since a childhood sighting in British Columbia, Canada. In 2009 Pia co-founded Exopoltics Denmark, which now operates as UFO Denmark. Pia has been interviewed on national radio and for the National Geographic channel; she has written articles on the UFO topic and lectured in both the UK and Norway. In her current role as director of UFO Denmark, Pia says that she “strives to make the best research and documentation available for the Danish public.”
RG: Who have been the defining figures in Danish UFOlogy over the past 70 years (for better or for worse), and why?
PK: Major H. C. Petersen was a pioneer in Danish ufology, founding the first nationwide ufo group, Scandinavian UFO Information (SUFOI), in 1957.
As a captain lieutenant in 1952, Hans Christian Petersen was sent to Wright Patterson Airforce base in Ohio for training. During his stay, Petersen became astonished to learn that the Americans took the UFO topic seriously. Project Blue Book had headquarters at the base and the young officer became convinced that UFOs were real. In the mid 1950s, Petersen had his own UFO radar sighting at Skydstrup Airforce base, which fuelled a lifelong interest in UFOs. Due to disagreements regarding George Adamski, H. C. Peterson left the SUOFI group in 1965 and went on to create a second group, IGAP (International Get Acquainted Program) to promote Adamski’s tecahings. Both UFO groups still exist. While the SUOFOI group has become increasingly skeptical of the topic and refers to UFOs as a myth with earthly explanations for all sightings, the IGAP group is slowly diminishing and now has very few members. H. C. Petersen passed away in 2013.

Goats Prefer Happy, Smiling Humans, Study Finds
Goats are too good for this world.
FIONA MACDONALD 30 AUG 2018
Goats can tell the difference between our human facial expressions - and they would rather interact with happy, smiling people, a new study suggests.
For people who own and love goats, this probably isn't a huge surprise, but it's the first scientific evidence of how goats read human emotional expressions, demonstrating that it's not just better known companion animals such as horses and dogs that can read our faces.
The work builds on previous research that found goats can be as 'loving and smart as dogs', and it's just further validation that they're delightful wholesome creatures that we probably don't deserve to have in our lives.
"The study has important implications for how we interact with livestock and other species, because the abilities of animals to perceive human emotions might be widespread and not just limited to pets," says senior author Alan McElligott now at the University of Roehampton, but who conducted the research at Queen Mary University of London.
To test how perceptive goats really are, McElligott and his team took 20 goats from Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats in Kent and showed them pairs of images of human faces in grey-scale.
The two images were of the same person - someone the goats hadn't met before. One showed the person with a positive, happy face, and the other with a negative, angry face.
The team found that the goats interacted more with the happy face pictures, looking at them and even going up to them and exploring the image with their little snouts.
"We already knew that goats are very attuned to human body language, but we did not know how they react to different human emotional expressions, such as anger and happiness," said first author, Christian Nawroth.
"Here, we show for the first time that goats do not only distinguish between these expressions, but they also prefer to interact with happy ones."
Interestingly, their preference for happy faces was most obvious when the positive images were put on the right side of the test area.
The researchers say this suggests the goats use the left hemisphere of their brains to process positive emotions - although more work will need to be done to investigate that hypothesis.
While the sample size of this study is small, it's compelling first evidence into how goats process not only human emotions, but also those of other animals.
"The study of emotion perception has already shown very complex abilities in dogs and horses," said one of the researchers, Natalia Albuquerque, from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil.
"However, to date, there was no evidence that animals such as goats were capable of reading human facial expressions. Our results open new paths to understanding the emotional lives of all domestic animals."
The research has been published in the open-access journal Royal Society Open Science.

An astronaut aboard the International Space station was forced to repair a tiny hole in the orbiting lab with his finger earlier today.
The 'micro fracture' believed to be around 2mm wide in the $150 billion (£115 billion) space station was discovered after astronauts noticed a drop in pressure.
European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst reportedly put his finger over the hole initially, before crew patched it with tape.

TODAY'S CRITICAL LIFE LESSON "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"...
There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime. In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free food".
"When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence". "They get used to that and start to eat again.
You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side". "The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd".
"Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."
The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America . The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare entitlements, medicine, drugs, etc., while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time as the government forces us to participate in many of these programs whether or not we want to.
One should always remember two truths: There is no such thing as a free lunch, and you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself. If you see that all of this wonderful government "help" is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to share this with your friends.
God help us all when the gate slams shut!

Good morning fellow searchers,
The Hindu Are aliens creating the crop circles?
August 29, 2018 00:00 IST
Have you heard of crop circles? They are strange patterns that crop up mysteriously overnight in farmers' fields. More than 10,000 crop circles have been reported around the world. But who creates them? It has been a puzzle and there has been little scientific study on crop circles.
There are many theories about what creates crop circles, including mysterious vortices, time travellers and wind patterns. The two most popular explanations are that they are the landing impression of a UFO (Unidentified Flying Objects) and that they are created by aliens, trying to send a message to the Earth dwellers. But all of these theories lack evidence.
The UFO theory has its origin in the story of a farmer in Tully, Australia. In 1966, he said he saw a flying saucer rise up from a swampy area and fly away. When he went to investigate he saw a crop circle, which, he assumed, was made by the alien spacecraft. This came to be referred in the media as ‘flying saucer nest’. The police investigation rubbished his claims, saying that it was created by a dust devil or waterspout.
Scientists who studied the crop circles in the 21st century believe that they are created by humans. In 2002, Jeremy Northcote, a researcher who studied the crop circles in the U.K., said that the circles tended to appear near roads and cultural heritage monuments such as Stonehenge or Avebury – areas that are easy to access. He suggested that the circles were more likely to be caused by intentional human action than by paranormal activity. The general scientific consensus on crop circles is that they are constructed by human beings as hoaxes or for advertising. There are also artists today who create crop circles as part of their art practice and for commercial clients.

How Hitler's nuclear ambitions were sunk with a tiny ferry in a Norwegian lake
Sarah Knapton, Science Editor 1 September 2018 • 7:00am
Hitler was just a ferry-ride away from getting hold of a crucial ingredient needed for an atomic weapon to blow up London, a new documentary has discovered.
In the middle of a Norwegian lake, 100 miles from Oslo, naval historians and scientists have located the boat on which the Nazis were transporting barrels of heavy water for use in German nuclear reactors.
The Hydro ferry was sunk on Churchill’s orders in 1944, but until now nobody knew if the craft really was containing vital component that Hitler needed for his nuclear arsenal.
For the new National Geographic series ‘Drain The Oceans’ scientists used multi-beam sonar technology to map the lake bed and virtually raise the ferry to find out what was on board.
They discovered at least 18 barrels which tests showed contained heavy water, and many more are thought to be crushed beneath the sunken boat, enough to put the Nazis closer to becoming an atomic superpower.
Naval historian and author Professor Eric Grove, formerly of the University of Salford, said: “It looked as if Germany might well get a nuclear bomb quickly and the Allies were obviously very concerned about that.
“Heavy water was a vital component of the attempt of the Germans to get their nuclear reactor to work.
“After the war those involved in the German nuclear programme said that the loss of the heavy water was absolutely decisive. It stopped their reactor programme in its tracks.”

Willow Creek comes together for Bigfoot
By Philip Santos
Posted: 09/01/18, 9:21 PM PDT
Bigfoot can be a divisive topic. But on Saturday, Willow Creek united in force to celebrate the elusive figure during the 58th annual Bigfoot Daze celebration. A parade of homemade floats, classic cars, fire trucks and police vehicles made way down the main stretch of downtown Willow Creek, kicking off the celebration at 10 a.m.
“Look at what they do to the highway!” exclaimed Patrick Culver, referring to the momentary shut down of highway 299 which makes the parade possible. Culver, who said he’s attended the celebration for 40 years, smiled ear to ear and added, “it’s just great fun.” Culver said he’s seen the parade grow over the years, which was evident by the amount of children lined up on both sides of the highway to catch the candy raining from the floats.

Strange Encounters With Little Blue Men
Brent Swancer September 1, 2018
There are plenty of weird reports to be found when looking amongst the many accounts of encounters with strange, unidentifiable beings. I have often covered such anomalous sightings and incidents here, and there are always those that seem to go beyond even the bizarre, to stick firmly in the domain of the unclassifiable and downright odd. Certainly amongst these are the occasional reports of what can only be described as little blue people, that crawl out from some fringe realm of the truly, fantastically strange.
One of the more bizarre stories of some sort of little blue imp comes to us from the area of Studham Common, in Bedfordshire, England, and was first reported in the March 3rd, 1967 edition of the Dunstable Gazette, as well as the Borough Gazette and with a follow-up containing witness interviews following in The Flying Saucer Review in July of 1967. According to the account, on January 28, 1967 a group of six young boys was out playing on the common on their way to the nearby school. The day was overcast and slightly rainy, yet the boys were still having a blast out there when out of the blue a bolt of lightning came crashing down not far from the startled kids, and while whether it had anything to do with what happened next is not clear, they would have a very surreal encounter with something beyond understanding not long after.

Indeed, if you are to believe the statements and proofs, Command Sergeant Major James Norton has put up; September 1977 witnessed a UFO invasion.
The night of September 1977
But, before going into the proof the Sergeant has, it will be worth to picture the night of September 1977:
There was to be pursued Joint Attack Weapons System Test at Fort Benning Georgia.
Commander Sergeant was back then a Buck sergeant.
He was sent to the range a day before midnight.
There were 1200 to 1300 troops to pursue live fire with the new weapons system.
The people in the range also included the Secretary of the Army.
In accordance with Commander, when they initiated, live fire training, the night sky above them was lit up with large orbs.
In a few moments, the night sky was filled with laser crisscrossing.
Military helicopters appeared.
The explosion was also heard.
Orbs in the sky were witnessed changing colors.
A triangle shaped UFO was seen.
This incident changed the life of many soldiers. However, the soldiers were briefed that they are not allowed to ever disclose this information, which will otherwise mean court Marshall for them.
What was Norton’s experience?
Norton gradually received his medical records, which indicated that the origin of his illness could not be found out.
His temperate was 104. And, in order to bring his temperature down, he had to be placed in a steel tub of iced water for 2 days.

Is your road bumpy? Sorry, we have OTHER priorities.....
...and where do we stand today??
Labor Day a reminder of troubled bridges
A Letter to the Editor by Robert F. Sanchez
Do you remember where you were on Labor Day five years ago? Neither do I. Yet I still remember where I was on Labor Day 1954: I was on my way to see “the Eighth Wonder of the World.” That’s the term the locals along Florida’s Gulf coast were using to describe the Sunshine Skyway. Not only did the 22-mile-long project extend U.S. 19 across lower Tampa Bay from Pinellas County to Manatee County, but it also meant traveling to St. Petersburg from the south no longer entailed passing through traffic-choked Tampa or catching the Beeline Ferry across the bay.
The Skyway’s highly anticipated grand opening was to be on Labor Day 1954. I picked up my high school girlfriend and we set forth to see this marvel of engineering. So did thousands of other curious motorists. Just north of Palmetto, traffic slowed to a crawl and my 1949 Jeep began to overheat.
Undaunted, we continued. The $1.75 toll for the then-two-lane bridge was suspended that day, and we pushed on across the main span. Motorists who did so were rewarded with a blue and yellow sticker certifying that they’d crossed the Skyway on its opening day. I still have mine — sticker number 1113.
By Labor Day of 1955, however, I was a freshman at Florida State, and my adventure crossing the Sunshine Skyway on its opening day was the last thing on my mind.
Years later I was jolted into recalling my opening day adventure when the Skyway was the scene of a tragic accident. On May 9, 1980, a large ship, the Summit Venture, was navigating Tampa Bay during a thunderstorm. It struck the underpinnings of the main span of one of the two parallel bridges. Six vehicles and a Greyhound bus plunged into Tampa Bay, causing 35 deaths.
In 1987 a replacement bridge, designed by the Tallahassee engineering firm Figg & Muller, opened to traffic. Nowadays it’s part of I-275 and features a design that’s not only safer, but also eye-catching. Indeed, if it were part of a major city’s skyline, it would be probably be almost as iconic as San Francisco’s Golden Gate.
The fact that the work on the Sunshine Skyway, like the interstate highway system, began in the 1950s is no accident. The nation — still recovering from the Great Depression, World War II,and the Korean War — was poorer then than it is now, but it had a can-do attitude when it came to infrastructure.
President Eisenhower, who as a young Army officer decades earlier had been tasked with leading a truck convoy across the U.S. when much of the trek was on muddy dirt roads, was an avid advocate of a federal-state partnership to build highways on a par with those he’d seen during his World War II “visit” to Europe.
Today we’re told that the much richer United States cannot even afford to maintain the current Interstate system, much less improve its capacity or extend it.
Meanwhile, the August 1, 2007 collapse of the I-35W bridge across the Mississippi River in Minnesota’s Twin Cities served as a reminder of the system’s maintenance problem. Thirteen people died, 145 were injured and travel was seriously disrupted for months. It was but one of many bridges and roads in bad shape.
No ship hit that bridge. It fell after decades of neglect by governments in which leaders of both political parties had too many other priorities, burying the nation ever deeper in debt while attempting to tend to everyone’s personal needs and wants from the cradle to the grave.
Robert F. Sanchez is a retired journalist residing in Tallahassee.
