Thanks Z
Good morning to you and all of our lovely UFOCasebookers!

Dozens heard Amelia Earhart's final, chilling pleas for help, researchers say
26 July 2018 — 6:23pm
Amelia Earhart waded into the Pacific Ocean and climbed into her downed and disabled Lockheed Electra.
She started the engine, turned on the two-way radio and sent out a plea for help, one more desperate than previous messages.
The high tide was getting higher, she had realised. Soon it would suck the plane into deeper water, cutting Earhart off from civilization – and any chance of rescue.
Across the world, a 15-year-old girl listening to the radio in St. Petersburg, Florida, transcribed some of the desperate phrases she heard: "waters high", "water's knee deep – let me out" and "help us quick."
A housewife in Toronto heard a shorter message, but it was no less dire: "We have taken in water . . . we can't hold on much longer."
That harrowing scene, the International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR) believes, was probably one of the final moments of Earhart's life.
The group put forth the theory in a paper that analyses radio distress calls heard in the days after Earhart disappeared.
In the summer of 1937, she had sought to become the first woman to circumnavigate the globe. Instead, TIGHAR's theory holds, she ended up marooned on a desert island, radioing for help.
Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, could only call for help when the tide was so low it wouldn't flood the engine, TIGHAR theorised. That limited their pleas for help to a few hours each night.
It wasn't enough, TIGHAR director Ric Gillespie told The Washington Post, and the pair died as castaways.
But those radio messages form a historical record – evidence that Gillespie says runs counter to the U.S. Navy's official conclusion that Earhart and Noonan died shortly after crashing into the Pacific Ocean.
"These active versus silent periods and the fact that the message changes on July 5 and starts being worried about water and then is consistently worried about water after that – there's a story there," Gillespie said.
"We're feeding it to the public in bite-sized chunks. I'm hoping that people will smack their foreheads like I did."
Some of Earhart's final messages were heard by members of the military and others looking for her, Gillespie said. Others caught the attention of people who just happened to be listening to their radios when they stumbled across random pleas for help.
Almost all of those messages were discounted by the U.S. Navy, which concluded that Earhart's plane went down somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, then sank to the seabed.
Gillespie has been trying to debunk that finding for three decades. He believes Earhart spent her final days on then-uninhabited Gardner Island. She may have been injured, Noonan was probably worse, but the crash wasn't the end of them.
On July 2, 1937, just after Earhart's plane disappeared, the U.S. Navy put out an "all ships, all stations" bulletin, TIGHAR wrote. Authorities asked anyone with a radio and a trained ear to listen in to the frequencies she had been using on her trip, 3105 and 6210 kilohertz.
It was not an easy task. The Electra's radio was designed to communicate only within a few hundred miles. The Pacific Ocean is much bigger.
The searchers listening to Earhart's frequencies heard a carrier wave, which indicated someone was speaking, but most heard nothing more than that. Others heard what they interpreted to be a crude attempt at Morse code.
But thanks to the scientific principle of harmonics, TIGHAR says, others heard much more.
In addition to the primary frequencies, "the transmitter also put out 'harmonics (multiples)' of those wavelengths," the paper says. "High harmonic frequencies 'skip' off the ionosphere and can carry great distances, but clear reception is unpredictable."
That means Earhart's cries for help were heard by people who just happened to be listening to their radios at the right time.
According to TIGHAR's paper:
"Scattered across North America and unknown to each other, each listener was astonished to suddenly hear Amelia Earhart pleading for help. They alerted family members, local authorities or local newspapers. Some were investigated by government authorities and found to be believable. Others were dismissed at the time and only recognised many years later. Although few in number, the harmonic receptions provide an important glimpse into the desperate scene that played out on the reef at Gardner Island."
The tide probably forced Earhart and Noonan to hold to a schedule. Seek shelter, shade and food during the sweltering day, then venture out to the craft at low tide, to try the radio again.
Back in the United States, people heard things, tidbits that pointed at trouble.
On July 3, for example, Nina Paxton, a Kentucky woman, said she heard Earhart say "KHAQQ calling," and say she was "on or near little island at a point near" . . . "then she said something about a storm and that the wind was blowing."
"Will have to get out of here," she says at one point. "We can't stay here long."
What happened to Earhart after that has vexed the world for nearly 81 years, and TIGHAR is not the only group to try to explain the mystery.

California mega-earthquake fear: Is the San Andreas fault at risk of the 'Big One'? By Chris Ciaccia|Fox News
July 26, 2018
New research suggests that a newly discovered 'structure' in the San Andreas fault line could result in a massive earthquake, often referred to as the "big one."
The geological study, written up in the journal Lithosphere, details that there is a 15- to 20-mile-long stretch of the San Andreas fault ‒ called the Durmid ladder structure ‒ that could result in an earthquake with a magnitude of 7 or greater.
The research put the odds at 75 percent that it would occur in both northern and southern California sometime over the next 30 years.
"This newly identified Durmid ladder structure is a voluminous, right-reverse fault zone that broadens across Durmid Hill around rotating domains of regularly spaced, left- and right-lateral cross faults," a research article on the study reads.
The research was performed by Susanne Jänecke, Daniel Markowski, James Evans, Patricia Persaud and Miles Kenney.
The potential cause of a magnitude 7 or greater earthquake is the result of what is known as "slow earthquakes" or slow-slip events (SSEs) that go unnoticed by humans.
"Temporary episodes of creep acceleration, known as slow-slip events (SSEs), have been interpreted as earthquake precursors and as a possible triggering factor for major earthquakes," researchers Mostafa Khoshmanesh and Manoochehr Shirzaei wrote in a paper published in Nature, obtained by The Daily Mail.
The Durmid ladder structure is located in the Durmid Hill region of southern California, an area that is highly faulted and between 0.6 and 2.5 miles wide. It has a broken ladderlike look to it, hence its name.
If an earthquake were to occur and both the Durmid ladder structure and the San Andreas Fault collapsed, it would be felt across an area of 15 square miles, though the exact effects are difficult to accurately predict due to the size and shape of both structures.
However, the research does give some parameters of where devastation might be likely to occur.
"The East Shoreline fault appears to continue northward for over 100 km past the Mecca and Indio Hills along the northeast margin of Coachella Valley, where southwest-dipping basin-fill deposits are being exhumed on its northeast side," the study reads. "Lines 4 and 5 of the Salton Seismic Imaging Project imaged faults that are along strike of the East Shoreline fault and occupy the same structural position as the East Shoreline fault relative to the San Andreas fault."
The "big one" has been warned about several times before, with the U.S. Geological Survey writing extensively on the topic, including how to use past earthquakes to better predict the future.

Good morning lovely people,
Fox news
by Madeline Farber 26 July 2018
A Colorado man had a group of unexpected visitors early Wednesday morning: four mountain lions, all hanging around on his back porch.
Andy Davis was up early for a morning run when he saw the lions, believed to be a mother and her three cubs. Shocked, Davis slowly reached for his cell phone to snap a few pictures and capture video of the felines.
“I was just amazed. My whole life I’ve been waiting to see cats,” Davis, of Conifer, told FOX31. "[I’ve] never seen a mountain lion the whole time I’ve lived up here.”

Leapfrog UFOs spotted in China sparks alien invasion fears among locals
UFO researcher Tyler Glockner has released the video of leapfrogging flying objects appearing in the Chinese skies.
By : Nirmal Narayanan Jul 26, 2018 11:49 IST
Tyler Glockner, a popular UFO researcher who runs the YouTube channel 'Secureteam10' recently uploaded a video apparently shot from China which shows multiple mysterious flying objects appearing in the skies of China. In the video, the UFO researcher argues that multiple witnesses in China have shot similar sightings a few days back, and it made many people think that an alien invasion is imminent.
Unlike the traditional UFO videos people have seen in the past, the sighting in China seems very different especially due to the leapfrog nature of the objects which appeared in the skies.
"We had this sort of mass sighting of something in the sky taken by multiple people and multiple cameras. We have dubbed these lights as leapfrogging lights or leapfrogging UFOs. It means, these lights often jumps or leapfrog over one another. When one light vanishes, another one will appear in the front of it," said Tyler Glockner in the video.
In the meantime, a section of conspiracy theorists has started arguing that the object spotted in the Chinese skies is actually a triangular UFO making continuous spin.
The video of the weird incident soon went viral, and it has already racked up more than 2,95,000 views on YouTuber. After watching the video, viewers also put forward various theories explaining the weird sky phenomenon.
"It looks like a rotating triangular object," commented Simon Hemlig, a YouTube user.
"The "leap-frogging" lights are the apex lights on a cloaked TR3B that is rotating very slowly," commented Wayne Warmack, another YouTuber.
The video of the new sighting surfaced online just a few days after another weird UFO was spotted in China. Adding up the authenticity of the video, a spectator was seen pointing his finger at the UFO during the time of lightning. As the number of UFO sightings in China increases day by day, conspiracy theorists argue that aliens are sending scout ships to the earth to understand the conditions here before they begin the invasion.

Kecksburg marks annual celebration of 1965 UFO crash lore
Jamie Martines Saturday, July 28, 2018, 3:39 p.m.
The county fair met outer space Saturday as UFO enthusiasts gathered for the annual Kecksburg UFO Festival in Mt. Pleasant Township.
The festival, now in its 13 th year, celebrates a UFO crash that is said to have taken place in a wooded area near Kecksburg on Dec. 9, 1965.
A fireball was seen streaking across seven northeastern states and Canada the afternoon of Dec. 9, according to Tribune-Review reports from Dec. 10, 1965.
Those living nearby said that they felt vibrations, followed by “a thump” around the time the object is said to have crashed.
One of the primary witnesses was an eight-year-old boy who said he saw what looked like “a flaming star” fall into the woods.
The area was investigated by state and federal authorities. State police told the Tribune-Review Dec. 10, 1965 that they found “absolutely nothing whatsoever and no marks to indicate anything” after searching the area with equipment to detect radiation.
Astronomers said that the large fireball was likely a Geminid meteor from the constellation Gemini.
Attendees came from across the state and West Virginia to celebrate the incident.
Harmony Rankin, 8, of Brewster Mills, W. Va., came in costume —a tight, gray diver’s wetsuit decorated to resemble a little grey alien — to join the parade.
She will act in an upcoming film about the Kecksburg incident.
“I don’t know if they believe in humans, but I believe in them,” Rankin said.
The festival will continue Sunday with a UFO conference at 1 p.m., which will include a sneak peek at the upcoming film, “Kecksburg.” Conference speakers will give updates on local UFO, Bigfoot and paranormal research. Bob Gatty, a former Tribune-Review reporter who wrote about the incident in 1965, will also speak at the conference.
