Colossal If Confirmed upnorthlive.com/news/offbeat/could-a-security-camera-have-captured-a-miracleEAST JORDAN, Mich. (WPBN/WGTU) - Do you believe in miracles? A group of people in East Jordan believe they have come across one. “I said ‘That’s an angel!’ And I was just blown away," said Glen Thorman, whose security camera captured the image. "I couldn’t wait to send it to my wife and send it to Deneille. And I said ‘I got an angel, and my camera took a picture of an angel.'" The camera is only activated by a motion sensor. On Wednesday, it emailed him a picture that shows what he says looks like an angel hovering over his truck, then moving out of the frame. One of the first things he did was send the picture to the pastor of his church, Deneille Moes. “It was really clear to me the minute I looked at the photo, I just kind of freaked out a bit," Moes said. "I went like ‘Whoa! That’s an angel!' And I texted him back, ‘That’s an angel.’ There wasn’t any doubt in my mind that we were looking at something supernatural.” Last night at the Thorman's house, the security camera recorded this snapshot. Glen Thorman is the fire chief for East Jordan ...( they attend Jordan Rivers) Yep folks... It's an angel. I guess there is no question who is watching over their residence while they sleep, and yes, they pray that The Angels of the Lord will surround them and their property....These photo's have not been altered in anyway. The second photo, the security camera also shot because the angel was moving away. The camera is designed to photograph anything in motion or unusual.... lots of tears today when they opened the security on their camera ...WOW!

MUFON New Jersey witness describes low flying orbs
5/14/2018
by Roger Marsh
A New Jersey witness at Monmouth County reported watching four low-flying objects with unusual lighting, according to testimony in Case 83739 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness was southbound along Route 9 at 9:05 p.m. on May 12, 2017.
“They became apparent in my line of sight while driving and I've never seen the color that these objects were in the sky before,” the witness stated. “I had no idea what the objects were, and I literally said out loud to myself, ‘what am I looking at right now?’”
The witness described the objects.
“There were four objects. Three of them were mostly in a straight line maybe 200 feet apart from each other and the fourth seemed further to the east and further behind the other three. The first thing I noticed about the color was the shade and brightness of the red. As I continued driving and getting closer I could see what looked like an orange/yellow glowing ball underneath the red. At one point, as they were passing over I rolled down my window. There was no sound at all. I basically drove for another 20 minutes trying to think of what it could have been, what it resembled or if I had ever seen anything with those colors and shape.”
New Jersey MUFON Field Investigator Glenn Green closed this case as an Unknown Aerial Vehicle.

Better set up some extra chairs, just in case.....Stephen Hawking's Memorial Might Have Time Travelers in Attendance By Brandon Specktor, Senior Writer | May 14, 2018
Physicist Stephen Hawking, who died March 14 at age 76, will be remembered primarily for his pioneering work in studying black holes and describing the origin of the universe. But he should also be remembered for hosting one of the most pitiful parties of all time.
On June 28, 2009, Hawking threw a party for time travelers. The next day, he sent out the invitations. "Copies of it will survive in one form or another for many thousands of years," Hawking later said in the documentary "Into the Universe with Stephen Hawking."
"Maybe one day, someone living in the future will find the information and use a wormhole time machine to come back to my party, proving that time travel will, one day, be possible," he said.
Nobody attended Hawking's party. But perhaps some curious future humans will ride the wormhole to Hawking's interment service, which will be held at Westminster Abbey in London on June 15. According to The Stephen Hawking Foundation, time travelers are cordially invited to that ceremony, too.
London travel blogger IanVisits first noticed the inclusive invitation when he was applying for one of the 1,000 available memorial tickets being raffled off on the foundation's website. (You can apply for one here. In the drop-down menu where applicants enter their age, Ian noticed that there were options for applicants born between 2019 and 2038. In other words, people who are not yet born — even those who will not be born for another 20 years — are welcome to enter the ticket raffle.
When reached for clarification, The Stephen Hawking Foundation acknowledged its time-traveler-inclusive policy. "We cannot exclude the possibility of time travel, as it has not been disproven to our satisfaction," a representative told the BBC. "All things are possible until proven otherwise."
While the Foundation indicated that no time travelers have submitted an application for tickets yet, there is still some time; the ballot closes at midnight tomorrow (May 15).
"So far, we have had applications from all round the world," the foundation spokesperson said. "And we do mean round — there are no flat-Earthers here."
Hawking's ashes will be interred at Westminster Abbey during the June 15 ceremony with friends, family, colleagues and schoolchildren in attendance. His ashes will reside between the tombs of Sir Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin, where the public may come to pay their respects shortly after the memorial concludes.

Guillermo del Toro Talks Monsters and Seeing a UFO with James Cameron
Posted by Kyle Anderson on May 15, 2018
When people have a sonorous, resonant voice, or are particularly captivating speakers, the tired adage is to say “Oh, I could listen to them read the phone book.” If we modified this saying to be “I could listen to them read the phone book…if the phone book were about monsters and stuff” then that’d be true for Guillermo del Toro. Nobody speaks as passionately or as intelligently about monsters and supernatural things as he does, which is why getting to see him sit down for a melding of ideas with James Cameron in this clip for the latter’s AMC series Story of Science Fiction is such a delight.
Del Toro has been the biggest proponent of the horror idea that any monster is just us in some fashion, which is why in most of his most acclaimed films–including his Oscar-winning Best Picture The Shape of Water–the “monster” is the hero, or at least the sympathetic one, and it’s the vindictive, though also quite damaged, human that’s the real villain of the piece. “The only thing that can confirm the existence of angels is demons,” del Toro says when asked why we need monsters. They “confirm the otherness” and opens us up to a vaster world. Amazing.
And then we get to the UFO story. It seems del Toro–who used to talk to the monsters who lived under his bed–saw a very stereotypical Hollywood UFO when he and his friend were going to the middle of nowhere to hang out. He saw it BEFORE he’d had any beer, so we can’t blame intoxication. But maybe if you’re more open to the otherworldly, you see it more often. It doesn’t take much to start believing there’s something bigger.

Metro.co.uk UFOs ‘have killed hundreds of people, including Hollywood stars,’ book claims
Rob Waugh Wednesday 16 May 2018 11:32 am
Whatever happened to peaceful, almond-eyed creatures asking, ‘Take me to your dealer’?
The book, UFO Hostilities And The Evil Alien Agenda: Lethal Encounters With Ultra-Terrestrials Exposed, chronicles decades of murders which may or may not have been done by the little green men. The book describes incidents where towns were left ‘burned out’ by UFOs – but which have somehow been covered up by the mainstream media.
Even Hollywood stars may have fallen victim, with Carole Lombard thought to have been bumped off in a UFO-related killing (and some UFO fans claim JFK and Marilyn Monroe were bumped off for ‘knowing too much’. Not only that, but UFO researchers have been murdered (possibly by aliens, or by their allies in government), and a bunch of celebs have been bumped off, too.
UFO expert Nigel Watson, who contributes a chapter to the book, says, ‘Fortunately, death by UFO is a very rare event. Most instances have occurred in remote places and might be due to secret government testing or rumours that have grown into ‘facts.’
Some ufologists believe that the propulsion systems of UFOs are so deadly to humans and that you should keep your distance if you see one landing nearby. Like most things in the UFO subject there are no solid facts to support the idea hundreds of people have been killed by alien spacecraft, nonetheless this won’t stop the speculation!

I'm sure that line from the above article is a typo but I left it.
I never read any reports of aliens wanting to find a dealer.

The Rise And Fall of The Roman Empire Is Being Rewritten by Ice Hidden Under Greenland
Wait, what has Greenland got to do with ancient Rome?
PETER DOCKRILL 16 MAY 2018
The frosty vastness of Greenland might have eluded the far-reaching grasp of the Roman Empire, but that's not to say imperial fortunes were never felt by the icy lands up north. A new study has provided a stunning, unprecedented glimpse into the peaks and valleys of ancient Roman and Greek civilisation by looking in a place so distant and removed from these long ago cultures, it's almost alien.
Deep inside the Greenland ice sheet, buried several hundred metres under the surface, trapped ice preserves an indelible record of old Rome and Greece that you won't find in the pages of any history book.
How? The answer is pollution.
An international team led by researchers from Nevada's Desert Research Institute (DRI) analysed ice samples extracted by the North Greenland Ice Core Project (NGRIP), which began drilling ice cores under the frozen centre of Greenland in the late 1990s.
The cores they looked at range from very deep to even deeper – ice samples cut from between 159 to 580 metres (521 to 1,902 ft) underground. In essence, the deeper you go, the further back in time you're looking, over a period of almost two millennia.
Thousands of years ago, ancient Greek and Roman civilisations mined and smelted lead and silver ores – metal work that helped underpin the physical and economical foundations of their societies.
But then – as now – that industry came at a cost, in the form of lead pollution, which escaped into the atmosphere, drifting on the wind for thousands of kilometres.
Some of that wind breezed over Greenland, where it collided with snow falling onto the icy surface. As time passed, more and more snow fell, burying the lead-tainted ice below as the years and centuries passed.
But if you extract cores from that ice stack, like the researchers here have done, and analyse the amount of lead emissions in it, you can generate a granular year-by-year record of what industrial pollution looked like thousands of years ago.
In this case, the researchers' timeline gives us a view of between 1100 BCE to 800 CE, and we can use it as a proxy for how economically active or prosperous these ancient societies were, based entirely on the yardstick of smog.
"Our record of sub-annually resolved, accurately dated measurements in the ice core starts in 1100 BCE during the late Iron Age and extends through antiquity and late antiquity to the early Middle Ages in Europe – a period that included the rise and fall of the Greek and Roman civilisations," says one of the researchers, DRI hydrologist Joe McConnell.
"We found that lead pollution in Greenland very closely tracked known plagues, wars, social unrest, and imperial expansions during European antiquity."
As amazing as this kind of time-travelling science is, it's not the first time it's been attempted. A previous study used the same kind of technique in the mid–1990s, but with a major difference.
That study based its conclusions on just 18 ice data points. The new study expands that to over 21,000 discrete lead measurements, providing never-before-seen insights into ancient Greek and Roman economic activity, and helping trace its varying wars, plagues, famines, and peaks.
"I wouldn't say the lead pollution graph is a close reflection of GDP but it's probably the best overall proxy for economic health we've got," one of the team, archaeologist Andrew I. Wilson from the University of Oxford, told The New York Times.
The findings, revealed this week, show that while lead may be a toxic, non-valuable metal, its usage throughout history is actually an invaluable marker to scientists – and to historians too, who now have a new, uniquely precise timeline to work against.
"The paper speaks for itself," historian Seth Bernard, who wasn't involved with the research, told The Atlantic.
"It feels sort of like we've discovered the Americas. There was another continent over there, that was always there, that we can see now."
The findings are reported in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Your Beds will Never Look The Same After This Chimpanzees have cleaner beds than humans, say scientists www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2018/05/15/chimpanzees-have-cleaner-beds-humans-say-scientists/The researchers swabbed Chimpanzee beds in Tanzania The researchers swabbed Chimpanzee beds in Tanzania Credit: Telegraph Henry Bodkin 16 May 2018 • 12:15am Chimpanzee beds are cleaner than those of humans because, unlike us, the animals change their “sheets” every night, a new study has found. The great apes build complex tree nests out of branches and leaves each day which contain fewer body bacteria than beds in most human households. By contrast, human beds are teeming teeming with faecal, oral or skin bacteria, according to the new investigation by North Carolina State University. Compared with human beds, the chimp nests had a much greater variety of bugs. However, they were far less likely to harbour "dirty" faecal, oral or skin bacteria. "We know that human homes are effectively their own ecosystems, and human beds often contain a subset of the taxa - or types - of organisms found in the home,” said Megan Thoemmes, who led the research in Tanzania. "For example, about 35 per cent of bacteria in human beds stem from our own bodies, including faecal, oral and skin bacteria. "We wanted to know how this compares with some of our closest evolutionary relatives, the chimpanzees, which make their own beds daily." "We found almost none of those microbes in the chimpanzee nests, which was a little surprising," Chimpanzees build their own beds each night Chimpanzees build their own beds each night Credit: PA The scientists were similarly surprised when they tried to vacuum up parasitic arthropods - fleas and lice - from the chimpanzee nests. They expected to find hoards of the bloodsuckers, but collected no more than a handful. Ms Thoemmes said: "There were only four ectoparasites found, across all the nests we looked at. And that's four individual specimens, not four different species." She added: "This work really highlights the role that man-made structures play in shaping the ecosystems of our immediate environment. "In some ways, our attempts to create a clean environment for ourselves may actually make our surroundings less ideal." Published in the journal Royal Society Open Science, the study is the first to compare the composition of species found in contemporary human homes to that of other structures built by mammals, including those of non-human primates. The beds made by great apes, be they chimpanzees, gorillas, bonobos or orangutans, are typically used for a single night and then abandoned. One explanation for such movement is that the practice decreases the ability of pathogens and pests to build up at a sleeping site and reduces the microbial odours associated with the individual that might attract predators.

Well AnonCat,
Humans lose about a pound of skin cells in the bed per year.
We lose hair, nails, 60 gallons of sweat, 22 gallons of tears, 96 gallons of saliva among other body things per year.
So, I guess change your bed sheets often.

Strange lights and gunshots: Coast abuzz with mysteries
by Sarah Barnham 16th May 2018 9:52 AM RESIDENTS are reporting seeing and hearing strange events across the Coast this week from loud gunshot sounds to bright white lights in the sky.
Gunshots were heard in Nambour both last night and just 30 minutes ago by resident Leesa Nixon.
Larrissa Salton also posted to Facebook asking fellow Burnside residents if they saw the bright white lights in the sky on Monday night.
She said 'two white dots' appeared in the sky about 8.30pm.
There was no sound as the two dots went from being still to move 'very fast' through the sky. A jet was reported to have roared by moments later.
Other residents reported seeing the strange lights at Coolum also.

When Creatures Change Form
Nick Redfern May 17, 2018
While the traditional image of the werewolf is, without a doubt, the first thing that springs to mind when a discussion of shapeshifters takes place, the truth of the matter is that there is a veritable menagerie of such infernal things in our midst. Were-cats, were-tigers, were-hyenas, and were-coyotes are also near the top of the monstrous list. Then, there are the ancient beliefs that those who died violent deaths – or those who were, themselves, murderers – were often destined to return to our plain of existence in the forms of hideous beasts, including wild and savage ape-like animals, fearsome black dogs with glowing and blazing red eyes, and mermaid-like things. There are also beings from other worlds: aliens, extraterrestrials, and Men in Black. Even the legendary monsters of Loch Ness, Scotland, are believed – in certain monster-hunting quarters – to be paranormal beasts that have the ability to alter their appearances at will. As are legendary vampires, who, the old legends suggest, can transform into the likes of bats and wolves.
Collectively, all of these “things” amount to an absolute army of otherworldly creatures, and half-human monsters that have plagued and tormented us since the dawning of civilization. And, they show zero signs of slowing down anytime soon. The things you thought were only fit for campfire tales, late-night stories intended to thrill little children, and entertaining monster-movies, are, in actuality, creatures of the real world. Of our world. Shapeshifters are everywhere: they lurk in the shadows, in the deep woods and expansive forests, in dark and dank caves, and in the murky waters of our lakes and rivers. Maybe even, after sunset, in the recesses of your very own backyard, patiently waiting to pounce. And many of them like nothing better than to terrorize and torment us, the human race. Let’s take a look at a few examples.
The latter part of the 1800s saw the surfacing of a tale of shapeshifting out of Germany – a country that has a long and checkered history of encounters with werewolves. It’s specifically to the town of Ludwigslust we have to turn our attentions; a town with origins that date back to 1724. One particular creature that became almost legendary in 1879 was a large, wild wolf that seemingly was completely unaffected by bullets. The brazen beast would even creep up on hunters and steal their bounty: their dinner, in other words. It’s no surprise that word soon got around that maybe the wolf was more than just a nimble animal that had been lucky enough to avoid getting shot. Some thought it was supernatural in nature. Others, in quiet tones, suggested Ludwigslust had its very own werewolf. They were right. Witnesses claimed to see a wizened old witch transform into the deadly beast – and back again. In April 2016, a very strange story surfaced out of the north of England. And to the extent that not just the local media, but the national media, too, were busy chasing down the strange and sinister story of what has become known as the “Werewolf of Hull,” reportedly an eight-foot-tall, hair-covered monster. The case was, however, notable for the fact that several of the witnesses claimed the beast shape-shifted from a terrible, foul monster into the form of a black-cloaked old witch. Most of the reports surfaced in and around the vicinity of what is called the Beverley and Barmston Drain, a land drainage operation, the origins of which date back to the latter part of the 1800s. A tunnel that carries the drain can be found below an old bridge on Beverley Beck, a canal in East Riding, Yorkshire, England – a location where a number of the encounters with the hair-covered thing have taken place.
So, what might the creature have been? The U.K.’s media picked up – and picked up quickly and widely – on a local legend of an abominable beast known as “Old Stinker.” It’s a terrifying half-human / half-animal-style thing that has a long history in the area – one which dates back centuries. So the story goes, it took its name from the legend that it allegedly suffered from severely bad breath! And its physical appearance was said to have been no better either: it was covered in hair, and had piercing and glowing red eyes. On top of that, it regularly devoured the corpses of the recent dead.
Jennifer’s encounter occurred in her small Oregon hometown in the fall of 2011. Late one night, Jennifer saw what she assumed was a large black dog walking towards her, on the sidewalk. As the creature got closer, Jennifer was horrified to see it was actually a significantly-sized cat. As in the size of a jaguar. Jennifer was about to make a run for cover – but to where, at that time of night, she admitted she had no idea – when the cat suddenly stood upright, changed its appearance and ran across the road, at a phenomenal speed, and vanished into an alley on the other side of the road. Notably, Jennifer said that the cat did not lose its black color as it changed into human form – nor did it lose its cat-like head. It was, according to Jennifer, something that appeared half-human and half-cat. A definitive were-cat.
Of the many and varied kinds of “elementals” that were said to possess the awesome powers of shapeshifting, certainly one of the most mysterious, and strangest of all, was the Dryad. It was a definitive entity of magical proportions that took shapeshifting to a truly unique level – as we shall now see. The Dryad was a supernatural entity that features heavily in ancient Greek mythology, and which was exclusively associated with forests and woods, and trees. There was a very good reason for that: the Dryad had the uncanny and eerie ability to transform itself into a tree!
Perceived almost unanimously by Native Americans as a trickster-like animal, the coyote is said to have the ability to control the weather, specifically rain and storms. And, like so many other trickster entities – such as fairies and goblins – the coyote can be friendly, playful, and helpful. But, and also like all tricksters, the coyote has a dark side: it can be manipulative, deceitful, and even deadly, and as the mood takes it. As for what Native American lore says of the shapeshifting abilities of the coyote, we are told that the animal can take on human form – usually in the guise of a man with a large mustache. Coyotes are said to be able to transform into the forms of birds, fish and cats. Also according to Native American mythology, witches and those familiar with magical rituals can transform themselves into coyotes. Thus, a coyote seen running wildly late at night may well be a shapeshifting witch or wizard, embarking on some dark and disturbing mission.
Japan has its very own shapeshifter: the Kitsune. It is a word that means “fox.” Japanese lore has long maintained that each and every fox that lives – and which has ever lived – has the ability to take on the appearance of a human, whether that of a man or of a woman. And, like many of the shapeshifters that we have focused on so far, the Kitsune alternates from being a malevolent creature to a placid and helpful entity. Mostly, however, it acts as a classic Trickster – manipulating people, and playing endless mind-games.
And that’s just the start of things: the Men in Black who terrorize UFO witnesses have been seen to morph into the forms of blazing-eyed black dogs. The legendary Mothman of Point Pleasant, West Virginia has been described variously as a winged humanoid, as giant bat-like animal, and as a huge bird. Clearly, the beast is able to take on multiple guises. Bigfoot witnesses tell of the creatures changing into bright balls of light. The legendary creatures of Loch Ness are said to have the ability to take on the forms of beautiful women and large black horses.
