Just a tidbit of information on what this song means to me. Back at around circa 1973, I was fresh out of graduate school and worked as a chemist for Algonquin Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG) just outside of Fall River Massachusetts. This place was basically a refinery. They produced methane gas from Naptha which is basically a jet fuel byproduct and commercially used as lighter fluid, and possibly some other fuels as well. The methane gas was injected directly into the pipeline traveling throughout New England to maintain pressure throughout the Boston area. I worked as a chemist performing all the chemistry for plant operations. I lived in Boston at the time and my only transportation was a 1971 Moto Guzzi Ambassador motorcycle. I would ride this to work which was about a 45 minute drive. In the wintertime I would wear a snowmobile suit and about halfway to Fall River I would stop at the 24 hour Howard Johnson’s to pick up a box of frozen clams. When I got off the motorcycle at the restaurant I would actually hug the engine until it warmed up just to get some heat so I could walk. People must of thought that I really loved that motorcycle, but at that time nobody else would be riding in the winter and the engine did eventually provide warmth as it sat there in idle. When I got to work I put the frozen clams in a beaker and into the drying oven for later on. I also played the radio and on the night shift I’d be the only one there so I could turn it up nice and loud while I completed all the various tests and analysis. And “Who’s That Lady” would be playing on the radio and I remember it like yesterday.
