World-Eating Leviathan Awoken From 500-Million-Year Slumber In Martian Underground Lake After Feeling Sonar Disturbance PARIS—Shortly following a transmission sent by the Mars Express spacecraft verifying that its instruments had detected a subglacial lake a mile below the planet’s surface, the European Space Agency confirmed Thursday that the orbiter’s surface-penetrating radar had disturbed the eternal and unspeakable dreaming of an aeons-old, world-ravaging malevolence, waking it from its 500-million-year slumber in the underground Martian reservoir. The abhorrent trans-dimensional beast then rose from the stygian depths of its lightless subaquatic lair, unleashing a hideous ululation that caused the red planet to fissure and burst into billions of molten fragments, an event recorded as a magnitude 18.5 quake by ESA scientists. The terror-struck astronauts of the International Space Station, evidently drained of their sanity by the sight of the accursed, star-spawned abomination, managed to inform ground control through increasingly incomprehensible transmissions that Earth’s moon had been devoured by the ravening behemoth before all communication with the crew was cut off suddenly and completely. ESA administrators, initially optimistic about the discovery of liquid water on Mars and its positive implications for future colonization, changed their message to one of warning earlier today, shrieking barely comprehensible messages of doom as they clawed their living eyes from their sockets in a vain effort to escape contemplation of the vast horror descending upon the world at this very moment to drink our insignificant lives as it will one day drink the light of the stars. www.theonion.com/world-eating-leviathan-awoken-from-500-million-year-slu-1827928509

This happened the summer of 2016. I was staying at my grandparent's house for a few weeks in the summer while my mom was on vacation. They live near Grand Junction, CO. Their house is by a large river and the whole area has a ton of trees/plant life/animals. I was letting my dog out one night. There's hardly any lights around their property so I grabbed a flashlight. My dog is outside for maybe a minute before I hear her start viciously growling and barking like I've never heard before. She's growled/barked at animals or people outside before but this was more aggressive than I'd ever heard her. I start making my way over to my dog to investigate. I make it about halfway to my dog and I freeze dead in my tracks. I'm pointing my flashlight in the direction she's facing, and I see the most unsettling thing I've ever seen. At first I think I'm just imagining it or tripping out but there was no denying it was clear as day. It was about 3-4 feet tall, a rectangular figure, but with rounded edges. Imagine like a 4 foot tall Twinkie lol. It was this gross translucent tan/flesh color. Like the color of a naked mole rat. There was no apparent face, or limbs. All I saw was a bunch of tentacle/leg looking things protruding all down the front and side of it's body. The way it was moving was creepy. At first it was sort of gently rocking side to side, and then I swear it started taunting my dog like running from one spot to another to mess with her. At this point I got too scared it would do something to my dog so I ran to her, snatched her up, and booked it inside and locked the door. When I peeked back outside the thing was gone. I don't think anything has ever disturbed me that much in real life before. My body wouldn't stop shaking for probably 25 mins after I got inside. Continue reading

They're back !
NAKED EYE SPRITE STORMS: Have you ever seen a sprite? Some say it's impossible. The strange and fleeting forms of red lightning materialize above thunderheads, then disappear again in less time than it takes to blink. Yet this week veteran sprite chaser Paul Smith says he did see them: "I've watched a number with my bare eyes over the last two big storms in Kansas."

Usually aliens in SciFi movies are some sort of octopus, or something that have tentacles.
Why?
I guess tentacles are scary to the average person.

Which probably accounts for many of the tales of so-called angel hair seen floating.

Stories are common of ice falling from the sky. Ice is a common part of asteroids, comets, and the like. Most of the time these are written off as falling from aircraft. Too bad some aren't kept and examined properly. There have been falls of gelatinous globs as well. Again none was tested. If you don't look you don't have to see what may be there. Tests on the ISS have found microscopic life forms on the outer hull, which have been passed off as contamination from earth because it wasn't alien enough. Science says there is no life floating around in space and they are sticking to that position, it will take a major effort by some better known names in science to change that position. The simple idea that life here came from out there and that we are all connected at the most basic level is alien to human scientists. 16 MARCH 2021 Microbes Unknown to Science Discovered on The International Space Station www.sciencealert.com/four-bacterial-strains-discovered-on-the-iss-may-help-grow-better-space-plants?fbclid=IwAR2SujgHO9jVkoN1jKfQbkal933-h-I8tnmOOdm_1kqKoeCkgBOnxz8Ha1g

APOD Galileo's Europa Image Credit: NASA, JPL-Caltech, SETI Institute, Cynthia Phillips, Marty Valenti
Explanation: Looping through the Jovian system in the late 1990s, the Galileo spacecraft recorded stunning views of Europa and uncovered evidence that the moon's icy surface likely hides a deep, global ocean. Galileo's Europa image data has been remastered here, with improved calibrations to produce a color image approximating what the human eye might see. Europa's long curving fractures hint at the subsurface liquid water. The tidal flexing the large moon experiences in its elliptical orbit around Jupiter supplies the energy to keep the ocean liquid. But more tantalizing is the possibility that even in the absence of sunlight that process could also supply the energy to support life, making Europa one of the best places to look for life beyond Earth. What kind of life could thrive in a deep, dark, subsurface ocean? Consider planet Earth's own extreme shrimp. Tomorrow's picture: almost alien apod.nasa.gov/apod/

What kind of life could thrive in a deep, dark, subsurface ocean? Consider planet Earth's own extreme shrimp. Tomorrow's picture: almost alien apod.nasa.gov/apod/Cool extremophile shrimps, X, indeed the kind of hardy 'impossible' life forms we might discover in or beyond our solar system, possibly beneath the surface of Europa. Big thought in this topic is if our own planet sports alien space animals, without us realizing. In a strange way, the biblical Creation myth (not to say Creation did not happen but zooming in on the Creation Story as a teaching tool), could be an imaginative means to give us vital information about who we Modern Humans are and how we evolved. The creation idea is that animals were created 'for us', serve a purpose that is to human benefit. What is the real world purpose of animals sharing our world? They fiercely compete with us, making them our first martial art and survival teachers. Evade those big sharp teeth long enough to have kids who will also avoid getting eaten and so on. Also outthink some of the slightly slower and less dangerous animals to utilize as cattle / farm animals. Even bond with some predators, like wild dogs, to engage in cooperative hunting, gaining the advantage of their superior speed and strength, as well as their super senses. Even the long tradition of keeping pets (estimated at 100,000 years Before Present for dogs, 10,000 yrs for cats) isn't some frivolous pursuit: outthinking them on a daily basis calls on us to use all our smarts all the time. See, our pets make us smarter over time (if a cat/dog 'owner' cannot keep up, the dog or cat will take over the home which I've seen happen, it's a nightmare, these little beasts are cunning tyrants ruling by tooth and claw!). Of course, horses, camels, donkeys and elephants etc. helped us shape our world, and served as war animals. Animals are Mankind's evolutionary mechanism. Competing, Nourishing, Assisting, Teaching and Befriending us forever until we do better. purr
