Yep. As I understand things the "Illuminati", (Italian), is an organization that hunted, harassed, tortured, executed, and otherwise crucified the Knights-Templar, Masons and any group who presented a threat to Church doctrine. They are also closely affiliated with the Vatican's world-wide secret police agency known as the "Knights of Columbus".
