To build or not to build? What would Jesus do? Empathy anyone? Jesus would be going about his business saving the world (no time or inclination to build walls for this Divine Nice Guy methinks), starting with desperate families fleeing SA to escape abject poverty, dysfunctional and corrupt home countries, all powerful and brutal cartels as well as having no economic prospects whatsoever staying home. He'd lose no time crossing to make sure everybody down there receive food, shelter and a big hug for each and every family member to the smallest child and the mangy dog. (Surely a bolt of lightning or two reserved for cartel employed human traffickers!)
Of course, it's not up to Jesus, Nyx. America, positioning itself well under God, is deciding how to deal with immigration and securing southern borders in its own sweet way, the present-day ineffectual squibbing among President Trump and U.S. Congress. With supporters of both parties and government employees getting into untenable situations, soon ANY COMPROMISE ENDING THE SHUTDOWN will be better than continuing this game of $1,00 - 5,7 bln US chicken. Who the hell cares about a Wall (or free border crossing bus service ) if you can't provide food or medicine for your kids and are about to be evicted over rent/mortgage? I like Trump's effort to secure the US-Mexico border, but however originally intended, it is turning into a political suicide play imo. My sympathy is with genuine refugees and US government workers caught up in a political mess. purr

A Facebook Post Clay Provenza
17 hrs
I was a socialist. I voted for Bernie and then Hillary. I was a fervent liberal. At the time of the 2016 election, I was elected as a Texas Regional Vice President within the largest international Honors Society in the world for 2 year colleges (the name of which I won’t mention for liability reasons). I oversaw 19 community college chapters within the Houston area and regularly spoke in front of crowds of up to 700 students, faculty, and professors.
I was nominated for an award putting me in the top 100 community college students in the entire state of Texas based on leadership and GPA, making me top .0001%. Everyone I knew was liberal and anti-Trump. Professors, students, advisors, Deans, Vice-Presidents, Presidents, and Chancellors. I used to join them in ridiculing the “deplorables” along with President Trump. How stupid could someone be to vote for Trump?
I remember making speeches right before the 2016 election encouraging people to vote, and subtly hinting that Trump was the threat. I’ll never forgive myself for contributing to the poison that has infected academia, polluting the minds of our youth.
Fortunately, I’m one of the few people that I knew who were open minded enough to constantly question my beliefs. What woke me up was the blatant, propagandistic smear that the mainstream media machine churned out against Trump. I viewed what Trump said and did with an objective lens, which I began to realize NONE of the people I had surrounded myself with were willing to do. I got redpilled. HARD. And realized that Trump could cure cancer or be Jesus Christ and they would still believe he is Hitler. Once I started to distance myself, and listen to Trumps message objectively/logically, I found that I agreed with almost everything he said. I quickly realized that NONE of my colleagues were rational, NONE of them could be reasoned with, and nearly EVERY one of them began to think I went insane. The very same people who claim to be tolerant revealed themselves to be the most intolerant ones of all. Where they once applauded me for inspiration, they now ostracized me because I would dare formulate a differing opinion.
This past year, the same Honors Society decided to invite one of the producers from Hamilton to speak at the international convention. Yea, THAT Hamilton - the same one that publicly embarrassed/humiliated Vice President Pence immediately after the 2016 Trump/Pence victory. Does that sound even remotely non-partisan to any rational person with even a smidgeon of desire to view Trump objectively? Let alone STUDENTS?
Academia is a massive bubble. PhDs, especially in the social sciences, tend to have a superiority complex, where they’re so attached to their beliefs that they vehemently oppose seeing other perspectives, especially ones deemed lesser (we’re all uneducated, redneck deplorables to them). Most of them absolutely refuse to venture out of the bubble for fear of legitimizing ideologies that challenge their world-view. Our youth is being indoctrinated in a way that the Soviet Union could only dream of. 99.9% of everyone I knew is still fervent anti-Trump and I’m not sure if they’ll ever escape the tendrils of the social justice fallacy.
It utterly disgusts me how the left has entrenched itself into a near-ideological monopoly within academia, entertainment/Hollywood, the mainstream media, corporate America (as Gillette has recently showed us), professional sports, censorship by social media platforms, and more. And the sheep still refuse to see it. They refuse to see it because of virtue signaling. I have no doubt that most lefties actually believe they are doing the morally right things. But acting off of EMOTION rather than LOGIC is a dangerous precedent to set for yourself. When emotionality supersedes logic and you’re unable to differentiate between the two modes of thinking, you become IMMUNE TO REASON. You cannot debate someone operating on emotion. This is precisely why these people are for absolutely moronic/illogical things such as open borders, no due process for Justice Kavanaugh, labeling anyone who disagrees racist/misogynist/oppressive/intolerant, removing monuments of George Washington (because he owned slaves), saying minorities can’t be racist, altering SCIENCE to support genders other than male/female...the list of brainless SJW idiosyncrasies is practically infinite.
The problem is that the leftist bubble is so large, that the average person who casually flips on the news is getting spoon-fed anti-Trump propaganda and they’ll likely never know any different. They can’t see that they live inside of a bubble.
Make no mistake about it, we are at war. Western Civilization is under siege from every angle. There is a sinister, diabolical, Marxian-like plague that has infected our society and it won’t relent. It’s clear that neoliberals don’t believe in free speech, they don’t believe in free thought, and anyone who dares to disagree is destroyed (attempted) like Trump, Kavanaugh, Kanye, and anyone/everyone else who dares think differently.
I’m currently writing a book over the subject, as I feel I have an obligation to share my experience for the sake of humanity. We, fellow Patriots, are the last stand. This is the most crucial year yet for President Trump in preparing for 2020. Feel free to add me or like my Facebook page (can’t link it here, but it can be found on my profile).
Here’s to the greatest country this planet has ever known.
Clay Interesting story of a young man's path to political enlightenment, Swamprat. So I looked a little closer, at his language (I've always loved language, often expressive of what is not said) and noticed the wording at times seems off (for instance a mention of 2 year colleges, suggesting the author believes he is enumerating "Year Colleges" as if there's two, instead of indicating course length). Also comparing a Facebook page, the text has been altered there to omit the impressive academic Honors Society leadership positions, downplaying them perhaps to avoid readers immediately Googling the Clay Provenza + Lonestar College Kingswood + Texas + Honors Society search terms. Swamp, I just did that and Facebook Clay seen next to Honors Society Clay are curiously similar yet vitally different: unless he had his ears surgically moved up 1/2 inches between the Honors and Facebook-Walkaway photo! Weird stuff, back to the text entered at UFO Casebook, and apart from sounding a little over the top here and there ("We, fellow Patriots....") for an academically shaped English writer, Provenza refers to "currently writing a book over the subject". Well, either he is writing it over (=due to being prompted by the events/experiences which the) subject (describes). OR he is writing his book 'on' the subject. I was educated in the UK, perhaps American English varies. But my overall impression of the Clay Provenza post is that its author did not spend their childhood, school years and/or college education in America or Texas. Add the photos of apparently two different guys purportedly linked to the Clay Provenza label. There's a third alternate profile photo too, although neither similarity or difference of the all faces shown proves anything. The story has a smell is all.
And I'd say Provenza's information constitutes an Influencing or Psy Op, more popularly known as Fake News in this case generated outside the US. Someone somewhere playing a great mind game.... next to his keys a big glass of iced vodka to wash it all down..?

EmbassyKat, in my view Trump has the better objective (Wall rhetoric/posturing aside) namely securing America's southern border for real. Sections of steel barrier part of this. Last Tweet read asserts "No Cave". Goes both ways for all it's worth. Day 31 and the suffering and disfunctionality for his supporters (like all gov workers including FBI agents fighting crime & terror affected by the border crisis) is beginning. Real world rules mean the only announcement Americans are waiting for is an end to the shutdown. Ideally 'solving' immigration and border security should be part of this reopening. But imo before long any deal will be better than no deal at all, the politics be damned.

Charles, you are MISSED!
Well done video on solution to the immigration issue.
...the nonsense going on in our Congress regarding the wall and protecting American citizens is just that...NONSENSE.
This past year, we lost one of America's best, Charles Krauthammer. His speech regarding illegal immigration in June of 2017 was right on the money. Why our politicians can't do this the right way, the way Charles spells out, boggles the mind. They would rather have someone like Maxine Waters spend our tax money trying to impeach Pres Trump. So, take a look at Charles' speech and spread it around. Frankly, everyone should watch and listen to this short presentation. It makes sense...common sense.....and can be done. His answer to our problem addresses all of the questions that the naysayers have.

www.prageru.com/videos/build-wall Thanks Swamp that vid does make a lot of sense,
From The State Of The Union, President Trump's description of "common sense" protection of America's southern borders:
"...it includes humanitarian assistance, more law enforcement, drug detection at our ports, closing loopholes that enable child smuggling, and plans for a new physical barrier or wall to secure the vast areas between our ports of entry."
"This is a smart strategic see through steel barrier, not just a simple concrete wall. It will be deployed in the areas identified by the border agents as having the greatest need."

Yes, by all means, we humans have an obligation to help our fellow humans. But allowing massive unvetted, illegal immigration is not the way to do it and, in fact, is utter stupidity. The facts are the facts. Politicians may lie but the facts do not. Border Patrol official: Caravan-size influx of migrants arriving every week in Rio Grande Valley By Adam Shaw | Fox News
April 9, 2019
A caravan-size influx of migrants is flooding across the border each week in just a single sector, a top Border Patrol official told lawmakers Tuesday -- the latest indicator of the growing migration crisis on the southern border.
“Much media attention has focused on caravans coming across from Central America,” Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Patrol Agent Rodolfo Karisch said at a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing. “But the fact is that RGV is receiving caravan-equivalent numbers every seven days.”
Karisch said his sector has apprehended people from 50 different countries, including China, Bangladesh, Turkey, Egypt and Romania.
“People are traveling across hemispheres to attempt to illegally enter the U.S., using the same pathways as the Central Americans,” he said.
Karisch noted that Border Patrol has apprehended more families illegally crossing the border in the first five months of fiscal 2019 than during all of fiscal 2018. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) apprehended more than 76,000 migrants across the border in February and said it was on track to apprehend more than 100,000 in March.
In the Rio Grande Valley alone, Karisch said that at current pace, they would have more than 260,000 apprehensions in his sector by the end of fiscal 2019. There were 162,000 in RGV last year. He also said that his agents apprehend, on average, 1,000 people a day.
Karisch’s testimony is the latest warning from officials that there is an escalating crisis at the border. President Trump, who declared a national emergency at the border in February, traveled to the border on Friday and repeated his warnings that he is prepared to close the border if Congress and Mexico do not act to close loopholes and stop migrant flows -- though he has indicated such an action is not imminent.
Last week, Obama-era Border Patrol Chief Mark Morgan told senators on Thursday that the U.S. is “experiencing a crisis at the southern border at a magnitude never seen in modern times.”
Karisch on Tuesday gave a similarly dour assessment, saying that in 30 years as an agent, “I have never witnessed the conditions we are currently facing on the southwest border.”
“This is not a manufactured crisis created by those of us who live and work in the border area. Border Patrol continues to apprehend record numbers of people who purposely violate U.S. immigration laws, we are taken advantage of by gaps in our legal frameworks and that undermine the rule of laws.”
Karisch’s remarks come as Trump is shaking up leadership at the Department of Homeland Security, apparently to take a tougher stance on illegal immigration. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen resigned on Sunday and last week Trump abruptly pulled the nomination of Ron Vitiello to lead Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), saying he wanted to go “in a tougher direction.”
The Wall Street Journal reported Monday that Trump recently told White House adviser Stephen Miller, one of the White House’s hardliners on immigration, that “you’re in charge” of immigration policy.
