This is what seems logical to me, or my opinion, so if you do not like it, do not read it.
Even though it is near 70 degrees today in Tennessee, no Sun Spots will bring much colder weather.
I agree. The Sun is the prime mover in our weather as well as our long term climate. If man had that much impact the Sun spots would have little to no effect on temps.
Computers will take over more, with increased cyber hacking ( where is Arnold ).
I agree. Along with the steady increase in control over communication by big businesses like Google, Facebook, etc. as well as their efforts to control travel with self driving vehicles, private industries are taking more and more control over every aspect of our lives. The more that can be produced with machines the fewer people will have any kind of freedom due to a lack of income or economic freedom.
Animals in the wild will die at a faster rate which is sad.
I agree in part. First species have come and gone since the first life appeared on this mud ball. It has only been in the last few centuries that we have even began to understand the number of species that live here with us and we still have no idea how many actually exist. We only notice the ones we know about and study. Every year new species are found. Yes, we don't find new species of Rhinos, but we do find new species. And we now are close to being able to bring some back with cloning and DNA research. Too bad we can't create land without people for them to live on.
The world economy will get more crazy.
That depends on your point of view. For much of the time since WW2 the western nations have built an economy built on inter-dependent trade as a means to prevent war. If someone else controls where you get steel you can't build many tanks. If someone else controls your oil your army can't go far from home. In the last few decades though this has weakened the economies of the west to the point where no country can support it's self. With trade supporting the world the countries that produce goods for less now have the power. These countries are not the major military powers. These are small, militarily weak and politically less stable countries. If you no longer have the factories to make transformers your power grid is in someone else's hands. Think about it, the Chinese could buy the scrap steel from the World Trade Center and ship it to China cheaper than a US company could haul it to Detroit.
Since it has been 50 years since the moon landing, UFOs and E.T.s, will come out in full presence making world governments have egg on their face.
I will bet you a $50 you are dead wrong here. China is now moving into space.
Yellowstone could become a real problem.
I agree, it could. But so could the New Madrid, any of a dozen mountains along the west coast, that volcano off Sumatra that just collapsed into the sea, that new hot spot under New England, or any of a dozen others.
The oceans will become more polluted with trash and plastic.
I agree. This latest tsunami washed how many thousands of tons of trash into the Pacific? And the floods in California ? And while we are on the subject of trash how many millions of gallons of fresh water are entombed forever in half full plastic water, soda, and juice bottles in landfills ? In glass jars and bottles ? We use plastic because it is cheap and easy to use compared to glass. We use the plastics we use because they do what we need them to do. It is not the plastic and trash that is the problem, it is generation after generation of parents that fail to instill any kind of respect in their children. Not even respect for the planet they live on.
Ebola will escape from Africa and will become more serious than war.
I disagree. Ebola is only a major problem because of where it is at. It exists in an area where even basic education and sanitation are lacking. An area where local superstition carry more weight than science. At the same time a disease very much like Polio which was a scourge when I was a child, has again appeared in the US. Polio was never eradicated it still lives on in the soil we walk on, it is only held at bay because we allow science to guide our actions and we follow it's advice. We get vaccines. If a biological catastrophe happens it will be some well meaning doctor somewhere, with a long list of degrees and honors, who goofs and releases a disease that moves fast enough and is deadly enough to overtake us before we can muster the research to find a response.
I look forward to next new years to see what came to pass.
Happy New Year to you all.
